AC/DC - 1978-09-10 - Columbus, Ohio (REPOST)

(QFM96 BROADCAST)

Here's another good sounding recording (not perfect, but quite good) from AC/DC's Powerage World Tour. The boys simply rock the sh!t out of themselves and the audience is more and more into it with every song (listen to Bon shouting "I think I marry you all" in the middle of "The Jack"). This concert is available on many different bootlegs, but this version offers the best sound quality so far and it was the first including the whole concert.

01 - Live wire
02 - Problem child
03 - Sin city
04 - Gone shootin
05 - Bad boy boogie
06 - Rock n roll damnation
07 - The jack
08 - Dog eat dog
09 - Rocker
10 - Let there be rock

  1. I attended this show and can attest to the power of the performance.

Columbus radio station QFM96 was one of the first--if not the first--US radio station to give airplay to AC/DC, and the band often credited them with helping to break them in the States.

When Bon Scott says during this show, "We've never said it's great to be back in a town, and meant it so much as tonight", he did truly mean it. Thank you Fitz, wherever you are, the QFM96 DJ who was first to spin AC/DC's debut album stateside.

  2. I too was at that show. Cheap Trick opened and no one knew who they were..lol. They were awesome. Then came ACDC. Almost an hour later. The place was ready to explode. And that they did. In a room that held 3,000 people, every chair in the main floor was broken and 88 people were arrested. Bon got in a pushing match with the cops during the first verse of Rock and Roll Damnation. You can hear it if you listen close.
They don't make rock shows like that anymore.
By the way QFM 96 rocked!

  3. 1st part downloaded and opened fine, 4 tracks (65.8Mb)

2nd part, downloaded fine (39.1Mb) but won't extract, tried it several different ways, used several different .rar extracting tools...seems to be 39Mb of nothing?

    Any ideas/suggestions?
